DESCRIPTION:Join the New England Railroad Club for their 2025 Executive Night Meeting on Thursday\, January 16th at Maxwell Silverman’s Banquet & Conference Center at Union Station in Worcester\, MA.\nMBTA Assistant General Manager of Engineering and Capital & Chief Engineer Sam Zhou will be the guest speaker for this event.\nCocktail Hour begins at 630PM followed by dinner at 730PM.\n  \nAbout Sam Zhou \nSam Zhou was appointed as the Assistant General Manager and the Chief Engineer for the Engineering and Capital Division shortly after he joined the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in August 2023. Sam is responsible for the safe engineering and delivery of MBTA’s capital program\, the 5-year $9.7-billion Capital Investment Plan (CIP)\, consisting of over 620 ongoing projects and programs.  Sam is leading the program management across multiple departments\, including capital project planning\, design and construction\, vehicle engineering and acquisition\, asset management and reliability engineering\, infrastructure engineering\, professional services and construction contract procurements\, Track Improvement Program\, South Coast Rail Program and Green Line Extension Program with 600 professionals. \n \nBefore joining MBTA\, Sam served as the Assistant Commissioner for Operations and Asset Management at New York State Department of Transportation\, where he had a wide range of responsibilities for statewide and regional operations and capital program delivery.  Sam oversaw 11 Regions and the regional capital project delivery with the annual capital program of $2.3 Billion. He also oversaw the highway and bridge maintenance\, traffic engineering and management\, modal safety and security\, commercial vehicle permitting and inspection\, fleet administration\, emergency preparedness and response\, and asset management and performance. He was the Chairman of the New York State Public Transportation Safety Board. \nSam is a licensed Professional Engineer and has an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M.B.A. from State University of New York at Albany\, School of Business. \n\nTICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE UNTIL JANUARY 10TH\n  \n\n \nFor those traveling in from Boston.
