DESCRIPTION:The New England Railroad Club & New England Association of Rail Shippers: A Landmark Collaboration\nIt is with great anticipation that we announce a collaborative event between the New England Railroad Club and the New England Association of Rail Shippers. This joint initiative will take place during the New England Association of Rail Shippers Conference on October 5th\, 2023\, at the esteemed Holiday Inn by the Bay\, Portland\, Maine. \nExecutive Night Dinner – A Professional Gathering\nOn the second day of the conference\, the Railroad Club is proud to host its revered fall Executive Night Dinner. We cordially invite both conference attendees and Railroad Club members to partake in this significant gathering\, emphasizing the synergies between our esteemed organizations. The New England Railroad Club is proud to have Maine DOT Commissioner Bruce Van Note as our guest speaker. \n \n\nCommissioner Van Note oversees the diverse transportation system in Maine\, a vast state rivaling the size of the combined New England States. Before this\, he was the Director of Policy and Planning at the Maine Turnpike Authority\, managing significant projects like high-speed tolling and safety upgrades in the Greater Portland area. From 2002 to 2014\, he served as Deputy Commissioner of MaineDOT. During this tenure\, he was instrumental in crafting and passing nearly every major state transportation law\, including the Turnpike reform bill and multimodal funding. \n\n  \nJoint Networking Hour\nPrior to the dinner\, we have scheduled a joint networking hour.
