President Mott is pleased to announce our guest speaker for the Mechanical & Purchasing Night Dinner meeting will be Mr. Wayne Power, Senior Vice President, Transportation, for J. D. Irving, LTD.

The Year of the Shortlines continues with an update from the northern reaches of our region – J. D. Irving is fully engaged in transportation in the region with the New Brunswick Southern and affiliated Eastern Maine and Northern Maine railways, as well as fully integrated trucking, warehousing and logistics.

Wayne Power joined J.D. Irving, Limited in August, 2004 after being previously employed with Owens Corning Corporation, a $5B building materials company headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. During his career at Owens Corning he gained extensive business and leadership experience working in multiple executive roles in both the USA and Canada including manufacturing leadership, as Director of Global Logistics and as General Manager and President of two Owens Corning Companies.

Since joining the Irving organization as Vice President, Mr. Power has been responsible for Business Development and Strategy and has also led the Equipment, Construction and Building Materials Division. During this time he led the redevelopment of the Saint John Shipyard, the start-up of Atlantic Wallboard Limited and the consolidation and growth of the construction and building materials companies. In August of 2010 he was appointed Sr. Vice President of the Transportation Group of companies.

He was born and raised in New Brunswick and has both a Canadian and American citizenship. He has a BSc. Electrical Engineering and an MBA.
